The Difference Between a Spare Tire and Normal Tire

You are driving along on the road, listening to the radio and chatting with your passengers. Next thing you know, your vehicle is alerting you that one of your tires is losing its air pressure and as you drive, your vehicle is having a little bit of trouble handling the road. It is that moment that everyone dreads; you have a flat tire.

Luckily, you are handy enough to know how to change a flat tire and you happen to have a spare in your trunk that you can use. Depending on your vehicle, you may have a normal sized spare in your vehicle but you could potentially have a smaller, compact, temporary tire also known as a 'donut' tire.

Most vehicles don't have a full-sized tire as their spare just because of the size it takes up. The compact tire can only be driven temporarily because it is smaller.
